Structural Bioinformatics Unit -
                University of Balearic Islands

The Structural Bioinformatics Unit is composed by researchers of the Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Research Group of the University of Balearic Islands (UIB) at Palma de Mallorca (Spain). The research unit is hosted by the Departement of Mathematics and Computer Sciences in the Anselm Turmeda building (see below).

The research activity of the unit is focused on the study of the three-dimensional structure of proteins and nucleic acids. The main research topics are the developing of new methods for structural comparison and prediction and the characterization of important structural features for the folding process.

During the last years, this research resulted in the development of new web server applications that will be hosted on this server.
